Veteran's Day Conversation with Emily

Emily: "Dad what's a veterinarian?"

Dad: "An animal doctor."

Emily: "What about the kind that are in the Army?"

Dad: "I'm not sure what you mean."

Emily: "You know the kind that were in a war."

Dad: "Oh, do you mean a veteran?"

Emily: "Yeah, what's that mean?"

Dad: "Well a veteran is someone who was in the armed forces at the time of a war. Like Grandpa Alan who was in the Army and fought in WWII.

Emily: "I'm glad he didn't die."

Dad: "Yeah, me too."
