Silver Firs Elementary Fundraiser Reminder

LAST FEW DAYS TO DONATE TO EMILY'S FUNDRAISER!!

Silver Firs Elementary is having it's 1st Fitness Day on March 17, 2009. Emily and her class will be doing many different activities like running, skipping, hopping and even doing the Chicken Dance through the Field Day course and activity stations.

This is the first time you are not asked to buy anything and 100% of the money you donate will go directly to the Silver Firs PTA and the following programs:

• Student Programs & Events: Art Docents in every classroom, AR program, The Dance Guy week and Friday event, assemblies, Field Day, Reflections art workshops and yearbooks.

• Family Programs & Events: Muffins for Moms, Donuts for Dad, Fifth Grade Celebration, Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students), Reading Night and BINGO.

• Parent Communication & Support: PTA Newsletter (Jagwire), Student Directories and Jagbytes.

• School Support: Grade level grants to help fun field trips, field trip buses, technology grants for the purchase of technology equipment, classroom supplies, equipment and materials.

• Community Support: Shoe Fund (gift cards to students in need for the purpose of buying new shoes) and recycling programs.

• New Playground Equipment: Believe me, this one is much needed as their current playground equipment is very old and out of date.

How to donate:

1) Cash and checks are always accepted (made payable to Silver Firs PTA).

2) On-line Donations at JustGive.org. JustGive.org is an organization that helps non-profits by offering them online donation tools. All donor's transactions are safe & secure. You will receive an automatic receipt for tax purposes. Donations can be made by credit card and the checks are mailed to the Silver Firs PTA directly every month.

To donate using JustGive.org follow these easy steps:

• Log on to http://www.justgive.org/
• Under "Search for a Charity" type in Silver Firs and click "go" - Silver Firs Elementary PTA should be at the top of the list
• Click on "donate now" located on the right of Silver Firs Elementary
• Fill in the required information including the amount you would like to donate and the student's name in the space provided under "AS A GIFT IN SOMEONE'S NAME" (Please note a $10 minimum donation is required for this option)
• Click "Add to Basket"
• If the information is correct, click "Proceed to Checkout"
• If you are a new donor to JustGive.org you must create an account by entering your email address and clicking "sign up" If you are a returning donor, follow the prompts and proceed.
• You will be asked to enter your billing address for security reasons - fill in the required info and click "submit"
• You will be asked to review and submit your donation. Fill in the required information under "Method of Payment" an click "Complete Donation"
