After a yummy meal that Eric made (my favorite b-day breakfast of French Toast and crispy bacon) we sat down to open the gifts. It was exciting this year because the girls bought each other and us gifts with their own money. Em was really happy to make Grandpa Dave a Santa that had green gloves (see note below).
The big present of the year was Guitar Hero World Tour. We made the girls brush their teeth while Eric brought their gift in from the grandparent's car and set it in the living room. When they came back they were surprised to see the big present and even more surprised to see what it was. Emily let out a big scream and Katelyn's face lit up.
Thank you to the all the grandparents for the wonderful gifts you gave to us. We loved each and every one.
The Green Mitten Santa Story: The first year Grandpa Dave and Grandma Carol were married Grandpa Dave made ornaments for their first Christmas tree and one was a Santa that had green mittens. Ever since then there has been a family argument that Santa does not wear green mittens but either white or black. Grandpa Dave is the only one that insists they are green even to this day.
