First Snow of the Year

As you all know the Arctic air brought some snow into our neck of the woods. It's not tons of snow but since it's so cold the roads were beyond icy. We attempted to head to church at 8:30 a.m. and I decided it wasn't worth it and came home. Emily was sad we couldn't worship Jesus at church today but we thanked Him for the beautiful snow before we went out to play in it.

We walked to the school and played around on the ice and in the snow a bit. We forgot our sled so Emily decided to become the Human Penguin and slid down the hills on her stomach. Katelyn didn't want to get snow inside of her jacket so she went down the hills sitting.

After about an hour we decided to go inside to warm up. The wind had picked up and made us ultra cold. I made them Ski Slopes to warm them up. Nana introduced them to the girls last year. You make hot chocolate with marshmallows and a candy cane. We drank our Ski Slopes while we watched, "Elf".

Stay tuned for more snow pictures this evening. I'm sure we'll go back outside once we warm up a bit.
